Ive got a question for you folks with more pc know how than me ^^

Where do babys come.. scratch that one

Back on topic, ive been trying to make my own spray for css. Everyone has awesome custom sprays of things from homer simpson to south park to even naked ladys ! :D (dont eat me, i know the rules hehe.) Im pretty good at drawing on paper but im useless at that on the pc... and the last time i managed to use one of my drawings as a spray, i made it look so fuzzy and blured you couldent make anything out :( im not sure how i managed it

Any tips on how to make a decent clear spray and how i can upload it? It would be really appreciated coz im getting tired of my classic grey halflife logo ~.~

THANKS ! :)

Well you get 256 x 256 pixels to play with for CSS sprays, and i think the trick is to not scan your drawing in and then resize it loads, cos you start to lose detail.

Also if you're adding text, add it after you've resized it to 256x256 - not before.

Not sure what else to suggest - 256x256 isnt a great deal of pixels so it wont ever be crystal clear - but i guess sticking to solid hard lines (rather then soft skethy pencil lines) might give better results too.

Cheers, My avatar, i was able to shrink quite nicely so it can stll be made out. i dident use hard pencils on it but its probably because its not coloured.

Ill try using a smaller draw and stick to simple colours :) i wanna try ad get one animated also. I dont know how thats done ive seen them around an they look awesome, i assume its just a <.gif> ?

No the animated ones are actually animated texture files. You have to create a series of .tga files, then use a bit of software that converts your tga's into a .vtf (i presume thats meaning valve texture file). This can then be used as a spray.

In fact, any sprays you make eventually end up being .vtf's, as CSS converts them when you pick your jpg/gif/tga. But it wont do this to animations - which is why you have to do the conversion yourself.
