Right, I have 2 HDD's in this computer currently, but I got sod all space in either and I'm working on a music video that's going to take up 2GB and above.

I have an old 40GB HDD in my other computer, but I don't know what to do with it so I can put it in this one. O_o any help? (and yes, I do have a spare slot for the third)

just plug it in and boot up with your exsisting OS, then just format the old HD. IF you can afford it just get a new HD, i just got 2 maxtor HD's 80gbs each with 8mb caches and they rock.

Nah, your primary master will remain unchanged, you'll be able to see all the files on the old one if you want to backup any, then as the smee says, wipe it.

remembering to set it as a slave or master using the jumpers on it.
depending on what the other device on the cable is set at.
or if its on a cable on its own, it doesnt matter.
