The best way to look at this, is as an affiliate section, formed by SC members for PS, but seperate (unlike supported mods, where although they are seperate sections u still play the same game - i.e. HL).

The PS "arm" will have many members, as the scale of the game is bigger than HL ones. This will not entitle PS members to wear the SC tag on CS/AG servers tho, as PS is a different game. :D

Not sure what Jumpgate is (gimme a link and I'll take a nose :D) but Planetslide is well wicked. A massive futuristic FPS with warfare on a grand scale. We're talking vehicles, aircraft, foot soldiers, with all types of weaponry from knives to rocket launchers. Slaughter on a grand scale :D hehehe

Yes, there are mines.

I generally tend to clear them by stepping on them. Not ideal but there you go.

The combat engineer skill allows you to lay mines, lay remote high explosive charges, turrets and remote censors.
Theres no sea warfare as of yet, but one of the races tanks can go over water, their technology is hover based you see.

jumpgate is like a space sim, where you trade and shoot stuff, sounds a bit boring compared with planetside though..!!!

Jumpgate looks a lot like Earth and Beyond in concept. :D (unfortunately Earth and Beyond was majorly boring to play :( )

On a completely different note, I gotta recount something that Kraken told me this morning as I thought it was seriously funny. He was playing PS last night, and was just about to leave the Mulac facility in Hossin, when he heard a guy yell "There's 100 vanu on the other side of the hill."
"Yeah, yeah" he thought, "someone can't count". Then as the vanu tanks and infantry poured over the top of the hill, he looked at them and at the other couple of ppl on the facility wall, and thought "Oh s**t, we're in trouble!"

A truely classic moment I reckon :D

When i put together my new system, i will obviously have to reinstall PS on that machine. As for as you know this wont give me any probs will it?? in using my existing character.
I have seen a few posts about ppl not being able to use their character etc...
Have any of you done a reinstall?

Reapers done a reinstall. He had a little prob with it not recognising that his chars were in an outfit, so had to leave and be reinvited but apart from that np at all.

Are any of u guys playing PS with an Ati card? namely a 9700Pro or a 9800Pro as some people seem to be having probs with theirs as PS was designed with nvidia as partners/sponsors etc and it doesn't support ati as well.

I'm about to make the switch from nvidia to Ati 9800Pro eek the darkside, but i'm sure it'll be a good experience (fingers crossed)

Why is it sooooo easy to spend money??

did have a nice little ati readon 9700 pro.. but a shitty component fell off while gaming and it got very instable.. returned it and got a geforce fx 5800 :)
