ok folks,
As you can tell the server is down and the contract with 4U for the CS server will not be getting renewed.
Now we need to find new CS server providers, so any help or links to good server providers (preferably with good bullet reg/ customer service/ price) please post below or get in contact with me at jedimindfuk@hotmail.com

best 1.6 servers are www.burstfire.net - 40 ping for me, and on usual servers i get 70. Sweet reg, adsl'ers get even lower ping. definately worth trying. hope it helps.

there are also some predefiend servers that contains some certain specs that you can get abit cheaper but then you are not allowed to change the specs.
Problem: I could not ping the only ip i had. it was from Asylums page. they state they have it as a warserver so i could never try it.

IT seems that when you subscribe for a server you more or less buy a computer that they hook up to the internet. they even charge for setup fees unless you subscribe for a year. / £60 per month.
here are some specs on the computer you "buy" 1. GameServer Hosting

Problems: well the fee and that i couldent find a single server that they host. And i didnt look hard for one so.

Prices: Well there are loads of servers to select from the cheapest server thats still international (i hop to god you dont pick a uk only!) you can find over here: https://secure.jolt.co.uk/index.php?page=clanserver.php&cpaction=showserver&id=1 its atleased £70 a month. unknown compspecs on the server and the rate is fixed unless the server is locked at 10k
problem: didnt have the energy to look up the host and try it. i did use a tracert on the server and no strange altencys there.

Prices: around £65 for a 18 player server what you get more than that i dont know couldent really find what you get more than a server.

problem: i did try one server on burstfire and it seemed ok. but all of a sudden the server went awol and at the start every player had atleased 140 in ping that then went down. the server contained some mods with loads of sounds beeing played maybe slowed the connection down i dont know but the spikes where there.

Connection: it seems to be a connection thats been rented or something.
prices: around £195 for 3 months dont know the specs or anything. the webpage states its moving to anther host and therefor limited info.
problem: i dont know how good it is. but asylum uses it. maybe they can give a statement.

The Uberservers are a different kettle of fish tho m8, not the normal clan servers.
It would be a totally dedicated SC box that we have total control over (no one else running servers from our machine). If we got the 32 player, we can set it up however we want i.e 1 x 18 player public server + 1 x 14 player private server, or we could have 1 x 18 player CS server + 1 x 14 player BF1942 DC server, or we could have 32 player cs, all of which we have control of and can changed between easily. Also the rates are at our control, none limited.
Everywhere else we would have to share our box with 5 or more other clans.

Tbh I was on the mwd server yesterday I enjoyed it. however was not sure about bullet reg..it seemed killed a few folk when my crosshairs suggested Id miss by a mile...lol (as per usual )

It's not necessarily servers that are giving you bad reg.
The people who used to use ex_interp a lot have switched to having really, really low rates; shots they make can be laggy and catch you out behind walls or when they've run off (like interp used to do) and you can hardly hit them most of the time.
not another ex_interp thread. god forbid it

Nah I was just mentioning the people that used to use interp now use low rates. Nothing really about interp.

My point is that Kills was unable to hit people but was saying it was the server; but it was most likely people using low rates because ex_interp isn't available and low rates have the same effect.
You know that.
people will high pings or low rates live on something called lagcompensation.
normal broadband people can hit them just as well. Kills the reason you arent hitting anything is because ya aim 2 high.
